Best Memory Foam Mattress Topper UK 2026: 10 Toppers Ranked

We read the UK topper tests from Which?, T3 and Expert Reviews, checked every price, depth and trial on the sellers’ own pages in October 2026, and sorted out which toppers are worth buying — and when a new mattress is the cheaper fix.

By Kevin, writer & researcher17 min read🔬 Research-based, not sponsored

The short verdict

The best mattress topper in the UK for most people is the Simba Cool Foam Mattress Topper. It is 6.5cm of medium-firm foam in three layers, costs £199 for a double on simbasleep.com, and T3 named it the best temperature-regulating topper it has tested, reporting no perceptible rising heat and a neutral feel through the night. What puts it ahead of cheaper foam is the safety net: Simba gives its toppers the same 200-night trial and 10-year guarantee as its mattresses, which is far longer than anything else we found in the UK.

If you specifically want a memory foam mattress topper and want to spend less, the Panda Bamboo Memory Foam Topper (£139.95 double) is the one UK testers agree on: Expert Reviews calls it the best all-round memory foam topper and T3 its best soft topper. If you want natural materials, the Woolroom Deluxe Wool Topper (£231.99 double) is the best wool option. If you just need a softer guest bed for under £100, a John Lewis Soft Touch Dual Layer or a Silentnight Airmax will do the job.

The job toppers do best

The rule every UK tester repeats, and most product listings leave out, is that a topper does not fix a sagging mattress. Which? puts it plainly: “if your mattress is already sagging, or has softened a lot over time, a mattress topper may not make that much difference.” Toppers are for a bed that is the wrong feel — usually too hard — not the wrong shape. If your mattress has a dip in it, jump to topper vs new mattress before spending £200 on foam, and see our best mattress UK guide.

The best mattress toppers UK buyers can get: at a glance

Ten toppers made our list. Six are sold direct by UK sleep brands, two are high-street own-brand toppers from John Lewis and Dunelm, and two are from Silentnight and Dormeo. Tap any one to jump to its card.

Prices are list prices for a UK double (135 × 190cm) where the seller shows one, checked on 27 October 2026. Emma, Dormeo, John Lewis and Silentnight only show a “from” price or a range across sizes, so we give those as stated. Almost every brand here runs regular sales; Emma was showing 25% off when we checked, and Simba advertised savings of up to 26% for key workers, students and carers. Treat the list price as a ceiling.

If you are coming from our US mattress topper guide, note that none of those picks carry over. Saatva, Puffy and Tempur-Pedic’s US topper line aren’t sold here in the same form, and US sizes don’t match UK beds. A UK king (150 × 200cm) is narrower than a US king, so always buy a topper in the UK size of your mattress — our UK mattress sizes guide has every dimension.

How we picked (and what we didn’t do)

We don’t run a lab and we haven’t slept on these toppers. What we did was read the UK’s independent topper tests and check every spec against the seller’s own page. The three tests that matter most are Which?, which has tested 39 toppers and measures up to 36 spinal points in side, back and front positions; T3, whose testers sleep on each topper for at least a fortnight; and Expert Reviews, whose topper guide was written with input from a physiotherapist.

Which?’s scores and Best Buys are members-only, so we can’t publish them. What we can use is its public list of tested toppers, with prices, depths and features, and its buying advice. Where a topper appears in Which?’s test list, we say so; where it is a T3 or Expert Reviews pick, we quote their verdict. Where only the brand has said something — Woolroom’s claim that wool sleeps better than polyester, for example — we label it as a brand claim.

We ranked using four filters: independent backing (did a tester recommend it, and for what?), a clear job (softening, cooling, a natural build, or a cheap fix), published specs (depth, foam density, filling weight), and return terms. That last filter matters more in the UK than in the US, because high-street shops generally won’t take a used topper back. Two toppers made the list mainly because of their terms: the Simba WaveCell, which has no independent review yet but carries Simba’s 200-night trial, and the Emma Original, whose terms are generous but contradictory on its own page.

Best mattress topper UK overall: Simba Cool Foam

Why: T3’s best temperature-regulating topper: medium-firm, neutral through the night. Longest trial of any topper we found.

Skip if: You want a soft, sink-in feel or need it under £100.

Check price at Simba Evidence: Simba, T3

The Simba Cool Foam wins because it does the job most people buy a topper for — making a firm bed more comfortable — without the two classic memory foam complaints of heat and that slow, stuck feeling. Simba builds it from three layers: a Simbatex comfort foam on top and a higher-density, contoured foam base underneath, all certified to CertiPUR requirements. T3 describes the feel as medium-firm and responsive, and found it relieved pressure points while staying put on the bed. Simba lists an anti-slip design and an elastic band fitting.

The cooling claim is the one most toppers make and few back up. T3’s tester reported that it “didn’t have any perceptible rising heat and it felt neutral in temperature through the night.” That fits the construction: Simbatex is an open-cell foam rather than dense, traditional memory foam. Simba’s own shoppers rate it 4.7 out of 5 from 71 reviews, a small sample but a strong one.

The terms are the clincher. Every Simba topper comes with a 200-night trial: if you aren’t happy within 200 nights of delivery, Simba collects it free and refunds you. Toppers also get a 10-year guarantee against manufacturing faults. No other topper we checked comes close; most UK brands offer 30 nights, and the high street offers nothing once a topper has been used. At £199 for a double and £249 for a king it isn’t cheap — T3 calls it “a bit expensive” — but you get six and a half months to decide.

Two things to know before you buy. It’s 6.5cm deep, so check your fitted sheets: a 25cm mattress plus this topper needs sheets with at least a 32cm pocket. And it is medium-firm rather than plush, so very light side sleepers who want to sink in may prefer the softer Panda. If you already own a Simba and find it too firm — TechRadar’s lighter testers said that of the Hybrid Pro, as our Simba mattress review explains — this is the obvious fix.

Best memory foam mattress topper UK

Memory foam is still the most popular topper material, and for a good reason: it is the most effective way to add slow, contouring pressure relief to a hard mattress. Which? notes that a memory foam topper “should spring back to the same height each time you use it,” unlike fibre or down, which needs fluffing. The weaknesses are heat and the slight sinking feeling some people dislike — Which? suggests trying one in a shop first if you can.

Why: Expert Reviews’ best all-round memory foam topper and T3’s best soft topper. The densest foam with a published figure.

Skip if: You sleep very hot — T3 says it still traps heat a little.

Check price at Panda London Evidence: Panda London, Expert Reviews, T3

The Panda Bamboo Memory Foam Topper is the memory foam mattress topper UK testers agree on most. Expert Reviews named it the best all-round memory foam topper, writing that it’s “very comfortable, regardless of your sleeping position, but isn’t so spongy that you feel like you’re sinking through it.” T3 lists it as its best soft topper. Which? has it in its tested list, too (as “Panda The Topper”), with a removable washable cover and elasticated corner straps.

What sets it apart on paper is density. Panda publishes 80kg/m³ (5lb per cubic foot) for its HydroFoam, the highest figure any brand on this page discloses. Density is the best single predictor of how long foam lasts, so that’s a meaningful number, and it explains why testers describe the Panda as supportive rather than mushy. Simba’s WaveCell, for comparison, uses 50kg/m³ memory foam. Most budget toppers don’t publish a density at all.

The downsides are narrow. T3 found that the cooling gel helps only a bit: “in practice, it still traps heat a little.” And the 30-night trial applies only when you buy from pandalondon.com. At £139.95 for a double and £159.95 for a king, it undercuts the Simba by £59–£89. Expert Reviews notes that only the Silentnight Impress beat it on price among the foam toppers it tested, at £105 for a king.

Why: Simba’s newer, lower-price foam topper, with the same 200 nights and 10-year guarantee as the Cool Foam.

Skip if: You want independent test results — we found none yet.

The Simba WaveCell is Simba’s newer, cheaper foam topper: 5cm, with a contoured layer of 50kg/m³ memory foam and a machine-washable knitted cover, at £159 for a double. We haven’t found an independent review of it yet, so it ranks below the Panda. Its case is simply the terms: the same 200-night trial and 10-year guarantee as the Cool Foam, for £40 less. If you’re nervous about whether a topper will suit you at all, that trial is worth more than the difference in foam density. One oddity: Simba lists its king as 150 × 190cm, though a UK king is 150 × 200cm. Check the size with Simba before ordering a king.

Also considered: the OTTY Bamboo & Charcoal Topper is a 5cm memory foam topper at £139.99 for a double — the same price as the Panda. But OTTY gives it only a 14-night trial and a one-year guarantee, and the cover is dry-clean only. With no independent review to tip the balance, the Panda is the better buy at the same money. The Emma Original Pro Topper (9cm, from £259 RRP) is Emma’s deepest foam topper; T3’s luxury pick was Emma’s earlier Diamond Degree topper, which it found thick and firm but a bit warm.

Best wool mattress topper UK

Wool is the material British makers do best, and a wool mattress topper is a very different product from foam. It doesn’t contour or relieve pressure much; instead it adds a breathable, springy layer that helps manage temperature and moisture. T3 calls wool “a great way to go” if you “tend to blow hot and cold in the night.” Wool won’t mask a hard mattress the way 5cm of memory foam will, so buy it for comfort and climate, not for sore hips.

Why: T3’s best natural topper. Breathable British wool and the Allergy UK Seal of Approval, Woolroom says.

Skip if: You want pressure relief like foam, or a machine-washable topper.

Check price at Woolroom Evidence: Woolroom, T3, Woolroom

The Woolroom Deluxe Wool Topper is T3’s best natural topper. It holds 1000gsm of traceable British wool — Woolroom’s Wool ID programme lets you trace it back to the farm — in a 200-thread-count organic cotton casing, and it’s 4–5cm deep. Woolroom says it is the only wool topper with the Allergy UK Seal of Approval, and claims wool toppers deliver 25% better sleep than polyester, down and feather. That figure is the brand’s own; we haven’t seen independent evidence for it. It costs £231.99 for a double and £263.99 for a king, with a 30-night trial that Woolroom says applies even if the topper has been used or washed.

Two practical drawbacks. It is dry-clean only — Woolroom says not to machine wash or tumble dry it — so pair it with a washable protector. And it was out of stock in some sizes when we checked. If you want a cheaper British-wool option, John Lewis sells its own Natural Collection British Wool topper from £85 to £125 depending on size (4.2★ from 37 reviews on johnlewis.com), and Piglet in Bed’s organic merino topper runs £189–£229 there.

Why: The most mattress-like topper on the list, with a 15-year warranty. Woolroom says it suits a too-firm mattress.

Skip if: You’re spending this much on an old mattress — buy a new one instead.

Check price at Woolroom Evidence: Woolroom, Woolroom

The Woolroom Ryeland is wool for people who want a topper that behaves like a thin mattress. It’s 10cm deep, tufted rather than quilted, with about 2,000 pocket mini springs in a king size and a 15-year warranty. Woolroom pitches it at mattresses that feel too firm or lack support. At £799.20 for a double, though, it costs more than the Silentnight Comfort Breathe 1200 mattress (£499 double) and the Nectar UK memory foam mattress (£600 double RRP). Buy it only if your mattress is sound and you love it otherwise; if the mattress is the problem, a new one is better value.

Best cooling mattress topper

“Cooling” is the most overused word in topper marketing. Gel beads, charcoal and bamboo covers all claim it; the tests are less impressed. T3 found Panda’s gel foam still trapped a little heat, and its luxury Emma pick “runs a bit hot.” Which? notes that memory foam “can feel warmer as you lie on it,” while latex tends to be cooler and more breathable. What actually helps is airflow: open-cell foam, foam springs, mesh sides, or natural fibre.

Our pick for the best cooling mattress topper is the Simba Cool Foam (reviewed above). It’s the only topper a UK tester named best for temperature regulation, and its open-cell Simbatex foam is designed for airflow rather than slow sink.

Why: Expert Reviews’ best for breathability: ‘comfortably cool’ in testing, with even support from the foam springs.

Skip if: You like plush: some of Expert Reviews’ testers found it too firm.

Check price at Dormeo Evidence: Expert Reviews, Which?

The Dormeo Octasmart Deluxe is the runner-up and the more unusual design. It sandwiches a 4cm layer of foam “Octasprings” between two layers of open-cell memory foam, for 7cm in all. Dormeo claims its Octavent system makes it eight times more breathable than traditional memory foam; Expert Reviews called that “a bold claim” but found it made for “a comfortably cool night’s sleep.” It comes with a 60-night trial and an eight-year warranty. It’s expensive, from £250 for a single when reviewed, and some testers found it too firm. Which? has tested the related Octasmart Plus (8cm, £199 double at Dormeo).

For the cheapest cooling option, a fibre topper with mesh sides — the Silentnight Airmax — breathes well and can go in the washing machine, but it adds softness rather than pressure relief. If heat is your main complaint about an all-foam mattress, though, a topper is a sticking plaster. Hybrid and pocket sprung mattresses sleep cooler by design; our best mattress for hot sleepers guide explains why, and the UK guide makes the cool-sleeping Panda Hybrid Bamboo its pick for hot sleepers.

Best mattress topper for back pain

Here’s the uncomfortable truth about toppers and back pain: a topper adds comfort, not support. Expert Reviews puts it directly after consulting physiotherapist Gary Jones: “a mattress topper will only really be helpful in cases when your mattress is too hard, as a topper won’t ever add support.” If your back hurts because your mattress has softened or sagged, a topper will make it worse, not better.

Where a topper can help is a mattress that is too hard. The best evidence on mattresses and low-back pain — Kovacs and colleagues’ 2003 randomised trial in The Lancet — found people with chronic low-back pain did better on medium-firm mattresses than firm ones. So if you bought a firm or “orthopaedic” mattress and now wake with aching hips and shoulders, a medium-firm foam topper that takes the edge off is the right move. Expert Reviews adds that people with a pronounced lower-back curve (lumbar lordosis) tend to benefit from a softer surface, while people with a flat back or swayback posture are better off with a new, firmer mattress.

Our pick for back pain on a too-firm bed is the Panda Bamboo Memory Foam Topper — it topped Expert Reviews’ back-pain guide, and its dense 80kg/m³ foam is supportive rather than sloppy. The Simba Cool Foam is the alternative if you run warm or want the 200-night trial. Avoid deep, soft fibre toppers for back pain; they let the hips sink without adding any structure.

Can a topper make a soft mattress firmer? Only a little, and only if the mattress is still flat. The Emma Original Topper is reversible, with a soft side and a firm side, and Emma’s pricier Original Pro is described as medium-firm. But no UK tester we read recommends a topper as a fix for a bed that’s too soft. If that’s your problem, read our orthopaedic mattress guide and our best mattress for back pain guide instead. If pain is severe or persistent, see a GP or physiotherapist before buying anything.

The Emma Original Topper deserves its place for the reversible design: 6cm of Emma’s Airgocell foam over an HRX base, which you flip to choose soft or firm. It’s rated 4.6 out of 5 from 118 reviews on Emma’s site and was £126.75 on sale for a single when we checked (£169 RRP). Our hesitation is the terms. On the same product page, Emma advertises a 200-night trial in its banner, a 100-night trial and 10-year guarantee next to the price, and a 30-night trial and two-year warranty in the FAQ. Get the terms confirmed in writing before you order. Our Emma mattress review covers the brand’s customer-service record, which is the weakest of the UK brands we rank.

Best mattress topper for side sleepers

Side sleepers are the people toppers help most. Lying on your side concentrates your weight on the shoulder and hip, and a firm mattress pushes back hard at exactly those points. Sleep Foundation’s firmness guidance puts most side sleepers in the soft-to-medium range. If your mattress is firmer than that, 5–7cm of memory foam is the classic fix.

Our pick for side sleepers is the Panda Bamboo topper. T3 rates it its best soft topper and says the memory foam “moulds to your body,” which is what a side sleeper’s shoulder needs. Expert Reviews found it comfortable in every position without feeling like you sink through it. Heavier side sleepers, who compress foam further, may want more depth: the 6.5cm Simba Cool Foam or the 7cm Dormeo give more material to sink into before you reach the mattress below.

Two cautions. Very soft fibre toppers feel lovely on the first night but compress under a hip within weeks, so they’re poor value for nightly side sleeping. And a topper can’t rescue a mattress that’s simply wrong for side sleeping. If you’re buying anyway, our best mattress for side sleepers guide and the Emma Original Lite in our UK ranking are the places to look.

The John Lewis Soft Touch Washable Dual Layer is T3’s best budget topper and the most-reviewed topper we found anywhere in the UK, at 4.7 stars from 1,501 John Lewis reviews. It’s all polyester fibre, in two layers: a supportive base that stays strapped to the bed and a softer top layer that comes off to wash and tumble dry on a cool setting. T3 tested a 6cm version; John Lewis now lists it as 5cm deep, at £85–£130 depending on size (£68–£104 on sale when we checked). T3 suggests it for occasional use — a guest bed or sofa bed — and that’s where we’d use it too.

Dunelm’s own toppers are the high-street foam option. Which? tested four Dunelm toppers: the Memory Foam topper (5.5cm, £110 double), the Gel Fusion (6cm, £140), the Cooler Than Memory Foam (4cm, £75) and the Dorma Tencel Blend (6.5cm, £180). The Memory Foam topper is our pick of the four for value: it has a removable washable cover and elasticated corner straps, and it was retested as recently as March 2025. Which?’s scores are members-only, so we can’t tell you which of them it rates highest. Dunelm’s change-of-mind policy gives you 28 days, but only for unused items with packaging and tags intact.

The Silentnight Airmax is the cheapest topper worth buying. Expert Reviews named it the best cheap topper, at from £32 for a single and just over £40 for a king when reviewed. It’s 8cm of polyester hollowfibre with mesh sides for airflow, it goes in the washing machine whole, and it has a two-year warranty. John Lewis now sells the 8cm Airmax 800 for £45–£58 and a 5cm Airmax 500 for £35–£55. Expert Reviews is clear that it is “not so great for” upgrading a lumpy or sagging mattress. T3’s machine-washable pick, the Silentnight Impress memory foam topper, comes in 2.5cm and 5cm versions; T3 notes some owners found it didn’t lie quite flat.

On Amazon: several branded toppers here are listed on Amazon.co.uk, including the Simba Cool Foam, Silentnight Impress and Woolroom Deluxe (per T3’s retailer links), as is T3’s overall winner, the 4cm REM-Fit Halo memory foam topper, which T3 said was “capable of making a real difference to a mattress that’s past its best.” Before buying on Amazon, check who the seller is: brand trials usually apply only when you buy direct, as Panda’s does. We couldn’t load Amazon’s own returns policy page when researching this guide, so check the listing’s return terms yourself.

How deep should a mattress topper be?

UK toppers are sold in centimetres, and most quality foam toppers land between 5 and 7cm. That’s the sweet spot. Below about 4cm, a topper takes the edge off but won’t transform a hard bed; above 8cm, foam starts to feel like a separate mattress, and fibre toppers that deep compress unevenly. Which? describes toppers as adding “a few extra centimetres” of material. The 10cm Woolroom Ryeland is the exception, because it has springs inside.

Match the depth to the job. 4–5cm memory foam (Panda, WaveCell, Dunelm) is right for softening a slightly firm bed for an average-weight sleeper. 6–7cm (Simba Cool Foam, Emma Original, Dormeo) suits heavier side sleepers and anyone who wants more cushioning. Wool at 4–5cm adds breathable softness but little pressure relief. Fibre toppers at any depth are about plushness, not support.

Then do the sheet maths. Add the topper’s depth to your mattress depth and check your fitted sheets’ pocket depth. Modern boxed mattresses are deep — the Simba Hybrid Pro is 28cm — so a 6.5cm topper takes you to nearly 35cm. Woolroom says its Deluxe topper fits mattresses up to 35cm deep, and T3 says the John Lewis topper’s straps fit mattresses up to 32cm. Our UK mattress sizes guide covers sheet depths in more detail.

Can you return a mattress topper in the UK?

This is the question that should decide where you buy. Which? is blunt: unless it’s faulty, damaged or covered by a sleep trial, “mattress toppers generally can’t be returned for hygiene reasons – unless they’re unused.” That makes the high street a gamble. John Lewis gives 30 days for most items, but lists bedding among products that “can’t be returned for hygiene reasons,” and anything returned must be unused, with original packaging and labels. Dunelm allows returns “within 28 days of purchase,” but items must “be unused and in their original condition.”

Brand sleep trials are the only way to sleep on a topper and still send it back. Simba is out on its own at 200 nights with free collection. Emma’s own page variously says 200, 100 or 30 nights (see above; confirm in writing), Dormeo 60, Panda and Woolroom 30, and OTTY just 14. Woolroom says its trial applies “even if used or washed.” Panda’s trial applies only to toppers bought on pandalondon.com, not through other retailers.

Our advice: if you aren’t sure a topper will suit you, buy from a brand with a trial, keep the box, and note the end date. If you know exactly what you want and are buying a cheap fibre topper for a guest room, the high street is fine — you just won’t be able to change your mind once it’s on the bed.

Mattress topper vs new mattress: which do you need?

A topper changes the surface of a bed. It doesn’t change the support underneath. Which? makes the point twice: a topper won’t make much difference on a sagging mattress, and it found “cheaper-than-average Best Buy mattresses that cost as much as some of the more expensive double mattress toppers.” So before you spend £200–£800 on a topper, check the mattress.

Sleep Foundation’s guidance is that most mattresses last six to eight years. Silentnight says toppers usually last three to five years, depending on material and use. Put those together with real UK prices and the maths is clear: a sensible foam topper costs less per year than any mattress — but only while the mattress beneath it is still doing its job.

Read the chart carefully. A £110 Dunelm topper works out at £22–£37 a year, and even the £199 Simba Cool Foam is £40–£66. A £499 Silentnight mattress is £62–£83 a year over its life. So if your mattress is near the end, a premium topper costs about the same per year as a new budget mattress — and the mattress fixes the support problem too. Our mattress lifespan guide lists the signs a bed is finished.

When the mattress is sound, a topper is excellent value. A new mattress that turned out too firm, a guest bed that’s fine but hard, a partner who wants a softer side — these are exactly the jobs toppers do well, for a fraction of the cost of a new bed.

Mattress topper vs mattress enhancer vs protector

British shops use three overlapping names, and there’s no fixed definition of any of them. In practice:

  • Mattress topper — a removable layer, usually 4–10cm, that changes how the bed feels: softer, cooler or more cushioned. Memory foam, wool, fibre, feather or latex.
  • Mattress enhancer — a retail term, usually for a deep, quilted fibre topper with a skirt or straps. It isn’t a separate product category; judge it by its filling and depth like any topper. A fibre “enhancer” adds plushness, not pressure relief.
  • Mattress protector — a thin, often waterproof layer that guards against spills, sweat and allergens. Which? notes toppers “will probably not be waterproof, unlike a mattress protector.”

Most people with a topper should also use a protector on top of it, especially with dry-clean-only toppers like the Woolroom Deluxe and the OTTY. A protector keeps the topper clean and helps hold it in place under a fitted sheet. Silentnight’s own tips for a sliding topper: a fitted sheet over it, a non-slip mat underneath, corner straps, or a zipped mattress cover. Our best mattress protector guide covers the options.

A quick note on feather and down: Which? says cheap down toppers cost around £50 but “can flatten down quickly and will need regular fluffing.” We left them off our picks for that reason. They’re a pleasant pillow-top layer, but not a fix for a hard mattress.

Best mattress topper UK: FAQ

What is the best mattress topper in the UK?

For most people, the Simba Cool Foam Mattress Topper: 6.5cm of medium-firm foam, £199 for a double, rated T3’s best temperature-regulating topper, with a 200-night trial and 10-year guarantee. For a cheaper memory foam topper, the Panda Bamboo topper (£139.95 double) is Expert Reviews’ best all-round pick.

Is a memory foam mattress topper worth it?

Yes, if your mattress is in good shape but too firm. Memory foam is the most effective topper material for pressure relief on hips and shoulders. It’s not worth it on a sagging mattress: Which? says a topper may not make much difference there, and a new mattress is the better spend.

How thick should a mattress topper be?

For memory foam, 5–7cm suits most people. 4–5cm softens a slightly firm bed; 6–7cm gives heavier side sleepers more cushioning. Thinner toppers barely change the feel. Add the topper’s depth to your mattress depth and check your fitted sheets still fit.

Can you return a mattress topper in the UK?

Usually only if it’s unused or faulty. Which? says toppers generally can’t be returned for hygiene reasons unless unused; John Lewis and Dunelm only take unused items back. Brand sleep trials are the exception: Simba gives 200 nights, Dormeo 60, Panda and Woolroom 30 (Panda only when bought direct).

Which mattress topper is best for back pain?

If your mattress is too hard, a medium-firm memory foam topper such as the Panda Bamboo topper, Expert Reviews’ top pick in its back-pain guide. A topper adds comfort, not support, so it won’t help if your back pain comes from a soft or sagging mattress.

Are wool mattress toppers any good?

For temperature and moisture control, yes; T3 rates the Woolroom Deluxe Wool Topper its best natural topper. Wool adds breathable softness rather than the deep pressure relief of memory foam, and most wool toppers are dry clean only.

What is the difference between a mattress topper and a mattress enhancer?

Not much. Mattress enhancer is a UK retail term, usually for a deep, quilted fibre topper. Judge it like any topper by filling and depth: fibre adds plushness but not pressure relief, and flattens faster than foam.

How long does a mattress topper last?

Silentnight says toppers usually last 3–5 years, depending on material and use, with memory foam and latex lasting longest. Signs it’s worn out include sagging, lumps, or the topper simply feeling less comfortable.
